CLASSES ARE OPEN TO ANYONE INTERESTED, REGARDLESS OF LOCATION

M:C Online

Due to COVID-19, classes have available online for the past two years. Through our online learning system, we have been able to successfully continue to provide our services. M:C Online has recorded video lessons and quizzes. In addition, our teachers are paired with students and are responsible for checking in individually with students to help with any questions about the lessons and provide any resources necessary. To learn about our online classes, please visit the MC Online page on this website.

Citizenship Updates

USCIS offices—as of June 4th, 2020— are open for non-emergency services, including naturalization tests. Visit this link to learn more about their COVID-19 safety measures and regulations.

Thankfully, there are no increases to the naturalization fee at this time. In late July, the USCIS announced a $500 increase on the naturalization fee as well as other additional fees. This change would have gone into effect on October 2nd, 2020. Yet, the increase was blocked on September 29th, 2020 by U.S. District Judge Jeffrey S. White in the Northern District of California. As of now, the naturalization fee remains $725, but Mission: Citizen will keep our community updated. Such a large increase would significantly impact our scholarships and ability to support students and we are fortunate that the increase will not be implemented as of now. Read USCIS’ statement here and learn more about the judge blocking the increase in this article.

In November, USCIS introduced a new, more complex naturalization test. Fortunately, the Biden administration repealed this new test and the 2008 test will remain as the test.
